CITIES #1 / 13Y
Whenevere I was able to have a break during my studies I was trying to see different distant corners of Russian Federation and foreign countries. During the last years spent in Academy, I could visit about 10 countries: France, Italy, Vatican, Finland, Ukraine, Moldova, Norway, Lithuania, etc. This is such a unique opportunity to percept, see all the magnificent masterpieces which about you might have heard at the university and might have seen in different books or films, the internet. I realized the fact that travelling as itself reveals the personality deep inside. Each journey is a unique memorable experience of communication with your own spirit, nature around. All that seen provoke you to create some feature of art, each journey evokes some inner powers, brings back the lost lucidity ─ in my opinion, that’s the most important.
I always draw sketches during travelling. Each journey may be equal to some shock; bright impressions, other aesthetic and ethnical environment, landscape, all that spur you to become more initiative, more decisive.
I’ve seen outstanding people in different planet corners, unique culture and traditions. All the time I’d love to catch all those moments, that’s why each time packing my staff I put sketch notes first. I like depicting landscape, architecture. Sketches help to focus on details, notice some moments which may be blurred, non-revealed, can’t be caught by human eye. Sometimes you have to sit in the parching sun or under pouring rain in case draw a sketch; and these moments are the most significant and valuable, ‘cause they awake the art. Sometimes there is no way to perform the beauty perception, your feeling can’t be rendered with a pencil nor paints, photocamera. These moments I’m just absolutely satisfied, seizing the moment. There is such a beauty man has no power upon. That’s why everyone needs a skill to hear and see all the ‘ordinary’ things might be. And thus you are able to see and foresee something unknown before.
